Every game is a series of decisions — not just the whistle, but the awareness before it, the presence during it, and the response after it.

The Decision Cycle is a four-week development series built to prepare officials for camp and for advancement by focusing on how strong officials process the game in real time. From reading plays as they unfold, to managing critical moments, to handling feedback and opportunity, the series centers on the habits that separate simply working games from moving forward.

We’ll explore the importance of intentional preparation, emotional control, credibility, and coachability — and how supervisors ultimately judge not perfection, but consistency, awareness, and growth.

This is not a rules clinic.
It’s a conversation about decision-making, professionalism, and showing up with purpose.

When we think about heading into camp this year and investing in our long-term development, this series is designed to help you better understand how to think the game, not just officiate it.
